  • Hattrick Group 1 Heroine Sold Three Times

    Monday, 15th March 2021

The barnstorming finish by Eurozone mare Krone (see above) to claim a stakes race treble when winning Saturday’s prized Gr1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens – see above item – matched her feat of having been sold through the Magic Millions Gold Coast sales ring on three occasions. Bred by Bell View Park Stud and Foote Street Investments she was originally sold through the Bell View Park draft for $30,000 at the 2016 National Weanling Sale. Krone was purchased on that occasion by former Widden Stud yearling manager Rae-Louise Kelly (now co-principal of Fernrigg Farm), and sold through Widden’s yearling draft for $60,000 at the Gold Coast to Rosemont Stud who subsequently broke her in, and prepared her for the Gold Coast 2YOs in Training Sale. She showed immediate ability and was the fastest breeze-up performer at the Seymour session in Victoria. At the Gold Coast as a 2YO, Krone she caught the eye of agent Jeremy Rogers who did the deal at $120,000 to secure her for syndication outfit Roll the Dice Racing. Now hugely valuable, Krone is from the once raced Al Maher mare Soft Landing, a half-sister to Group 1-winning siblings Universal Prince and Universal Queen.
