Million Dollar Flash To Debut

Friday's meeting at Newcastle will host the debut race day outing for $1 million yearling Green Flash (Redoute's Choice-Top Cuban, by Anabaa). Trained by Chris Waller for owners Hermitage whose recent high class runners include The Autumn Sun (Redoute's Choice,) September Run (Exceed and Excel), Dragon Leap Pierro) and Rocket Spade (Pierro), 3YO colt Green Flash has had three trials to prepare for today. A half-brother to Gr3 winner Havana (Starcraft) and three-quarter to talented Listed winner Diplomatico (Snitzel), he was sold by Arrowfield Stud at the 2019 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale to Hermitage and Waller Racing. Green Flash's dam, Top Cuban (Anabaa-Super Seleccion, by Seattle Slew) was a maiden 2YO winner, and hails from an imported American family that traces to dual Gr1 winner and sire Slew City Slew (Seattle Slew). Havana won the Gr3 BTC Classic as a late 3YO, while Diplomatico showed early promise in winning the Listed Brian Cowley Stakes at his third start, displaying a big motor.
