Achieving his third individual Gr1 winner when his son Café Pharoah (American Pharoah) took victory in the February Stakes over the weekend in Japan, Coolmore's American Pharoah (Pioneerof The Nile-Littleprincessemma, by Yankee Gentleman) could record a milestone this coming weekend when the Chris Waller-trained Head Of State (American Pharoah-Derelique, by Danehill Dancer) takes his place in the Gr2 Skyline Stakes (1200m), aiming to become the first Australian stakes-winner for his sire. Winning by 2-lengths last time out to become the first local winner for America Pharoah, the Coolmore and partners-raced bay is one of 15 nominations for the Gr2 Skyline Stakes, a race won in the past by Gr1 sires Hinchinbrook, Choisir, Snitzel, Casino Prince and Manhattan Rain. A $850,000 yearling purchase by Tom Magnier from the draft of Lime Country Thoroughbreds at the 2020 Magic Millions yearling Sale, Head of State is a half-brother to Gr2 Hobartville Stakes winner Man From Uncle (Uncle Mo) and from the family of Snitzel's Gr1-winning juvenile Summer Passage.
