  • Ingratiating Has Diamond History to Beat

    Monday, 15th February 2021

Should Godolphin’s Ingratiating (Frosted) front up for Saturday’s Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes on Saturday – now a genuine prospect after the weekend’s Talindert Stakes win where the handicapper did him no favours – the 2YO colt will need to become the first horse since Road To Success to complete a successful seven day back up. That doesn’t seem to concern trainer James Cummings who revealed to RSN927 he’d spoken to Melbourne foreman Reg Fleming a few times on Sunday morning. “He’s [Ingratiating] pulled up great so I think it’s very likely,” said Cummings regarding the Blue Diamond, a race where the ‘blue army’ could have three runners, also including Listed Cooper Stakes winner Anamoe and Arcaded. The latter two are both by underrated Darley sire Street Boss whose son Hanseatic finished a narrow runner-up in last year’s Diamond behind Tagaloa.
