Deep Nominations for Dubai World Cup

Even though much of Europe and the US is still grappling with overwhelming caseloads of COVID-19, that hasn’t stopped global racing connections from throwing their respective hats into the ring for the rich Dubai World Cup meeting. According to bloodhorse.com, when final entries fell due, “A total of 1,511 nominations for Dubai World Cup night were accepted from 762 horses trained in 19 countries.” Of those 762 aggregate nominations, 176 were specifically for the Dubai World Cup at Meydan itself and included entries for leading Group/Grade 1 candidates like Knicks Go, Charlatan and Code of Honor. Other high profile international entries are Maxfield, Sleepy Eyes Todd and Dubai Warrior. Local chances for the 2000m dirt race expected to perform well are Military Law, Matterhorn, Kimbear and Capezzano. The twenty-fifth running of the Dubai World Cup is scheduled for 27 March.
