  • Maher-Eustace Duo adds Millennium Intrigue

    Wednesday, 3rd February 2021

Last year’s prophesied influence of this year’s Ciaron Maher and David Eustace juvenile crop, by the man responsible for breaking their yearlings in, is well on the way to being spot on. With Enthaar having an apparent vice-like grip on the Gr1 Blue Diamond and Gr1 Golden Slipper, the stable has turned its attention to Saturday’s $2 million Inglis Millennium (1100m) where it will attempt to snaffle the bulk of the big purse with a two-pronged attack. In the top six for the race’s ballot order, top-ranked candidate Sneaky Five is yet to taste defeat. The Rosemont Stud-owned filly won the RL $500,000 Inglis Banner (1000m) at Moonee Valley before crossing the border to claim Rosehill’s $1 million Golden Gift (1100m). Joining her is fellow filly Nice For What. Beaten just a smidgin at her only run by undefeated dual Group 3 winner Dosh in the Ottawa Stakes (1000m) at Flemington, victory by Nice For What would give her sire Shalaa a unique Magic Millions 2YO Classic-Inglis Millennium 2YO double, adding even further demand to his 22 catalogued yearlings for the Classic Sale starting on Sunday.
