Pair of Quality 2YOs to Debut At Pakenham

Race one at Pakenham today will feature a pair of well-bred 2YO colts having their first starts. Swettenham Stud's dual Gr1 winning sprinter-miler Trust in a Gust (Keep the Faith-Subtle Breeze, by Storm Cat) is represented by his half-brother Tramontana (Toronado) who was a $200,000 purchase from the 2020 New Zealand Bloodstock Yearling Sale from the Hallmark Stud draft. Trust in a Gust has had a promising start to this season with the 2YO Tempest Charm (ex Magic Pulse, by Magic Albert) placing in the Listed Inglis Banner 2YO Stakes on debut. The other well-bred youngster in this race is a half-brother to Gr3 winner Thought of That (So You Think-Hold Me Closer, by Danehill Dancer) called Daily Bugle (Press Statement) who sold for $230,000 at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale from the Tarcoola Stud draft. Tramontana opened up with the TAB as the favourite paying $2.60.
