  • Enthaar Scares Off Chairman's Stakes Rivals

    Thursday, 28th January 2021

Impressive debut Gr3 Gimcrack Stakes winner Enthaar (Written Tycoon-Final Agreement, by Not a Single Doubt) has scared off her rivals for her second start in Saturday's Gr3 Chairman's Stakes over 1000m with only five other horses nominating for the race. One of those is unraced Fortunate Kiss (Divine Prophet-Kiss me Goodbye, by Savabeel). "We are under no illusions, we are up against it," said trainer Daniel Bowman to racing.com. "The theory behind it was we could go to Werribee on Friday in a field of 10 or 12 and still run into something that goes good or we could have a crack at Caulfield and hope for a small field - and I was right it is - and if she runs a place she's got black type. Enthaar looks good and there's Ingratiating as well but there are no easy 2YO races this time of the year and she's going to run into a good field wherever she goes so why not make it in town and see where she's at." Fortunate Kiss was an $80,000 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale purchase for Bowman from the Middlebrook Valley Lodge draft. Also in the field is Listed winner Ingratiating (Frosted-Obsequious, by Lonhro), and Son of Mercury (Street Boss-Cupid, by Fastnet Rock) who ran fifth in the Listed Inglis Banner Stakes at his only start to date. Rounding out the field are the unraced pair of Frostin' (Frosted-Patina, by Anabaa) and Twilight (Teofilo-Big Spirit, by Invincible Spirit).
