Black Type Premiership Adds Age Categories

In a significant new development, Black Type Premiership has added a number of new categories for the 2020-2021 racing season. Following an initial roll-out of Runners, Sires, Dams, Trainers and Jockeys, additional categories for Vendors and Sales Companies in Australia were added to recognise and celebrate the industry’s best-performing thoroughbreds. The latest additions, also applied to New Zealand and Hong Kong runners in their own dedicated premierships, pays particular attention to age categories for 2YOs, 3YOs and 4YOs-plus – allowing for black type performance comparison of horses relative to their age group contemporaries. Last, but not least, Black Type Premiership has also released a category that focusses on the pecking order for Weight-For-Age stakes performers, a sector that has long been considered the holy grail of championship achievement. Note: the WFA category shows ONLY the weight-for-age points earned by horses, hence most horses' different points displayed on the WFA table versus all points earned in Runners.
