Away Needs to Bring A Game to MM Guineas

Last year's exciting Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Away Game (Snitzel) showed she is no one-trick pony by winning three other Group and Listed juvenile features, and finishing runner-up in the Gr1 Golden Slipper. She was also runner-up in the Listed Gold Edition at Doomben which she lost narrowly to Isotope, a filly she subsequently beat in a trial last week. Whilst, on paper, there isn't much between the duo, the market probably has it right for Saturday's $2 million 3YO Guineas, having priced up Isotope $2.70 favourite ahead of Away Game at $4.00. The latter will invariably be in the leading division from barrier 3 but if Isotope doesn't get too far out of her ground from barrier 7 the daughter of Deep Field only needs to be thereabouts to swallow the field up with giant strides. She could provide a red letter day for champion Brisbane trainer Tony Gollan who also has favourite Jonker in the Magic Millions Snippets as well as other entries for the day in Outback Barbie and Tokoriki Lad.
