  • Readily Availabull Ready to Boost Bull Point

    Thursday, 14th January 2021

A strong commercial pedigree, a high yearling price and subsequent Group 1-placed Group-winning performance is still no guarantee that a colt will make a good stallion. In the case of Bull Point, who ticks all those boxes having been the most expensive Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling of his year, the planets appear to have aligned and he's enjoying strong popularity. Heading into Saturday's $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic, there's a strong likelihood that by the end of the day he could have his second stakes-performed 2YO from just fourteen juvenile runners this season – the other is Listed Inglis Nursery runner-up Encountabull. You won't get any argument from trainer John Sargent, who saddles up gun 2YO Readily Availabull and claims, "[He's] a quality colt; with the good draw he will be hitting the line strong." With a cracking full-brother in the paddock, Amarina Farm will share Sargent's enthusiasm, as will Magic Millions Tasmania, Armidale Stud and breeder John Bridges. Meanwhile, Kingstar's only Bull Point yearling available at the Gold Coast, Lot 1214 (out of a half-sister to Champion sprinting filly Regimental Gal) arrives at the complex on Friday.
