    The first event at Geelong today is a 2YO Maiden Plate over 1135m, and all ten runners are on debut. The most expensive runner is $600,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale purchase from the Arrowfield Stud draft, Cheerful Legend (Shalaa-Jemison, by Commands), who is a half-brother to Hong Kong Champion Contentment (Hussonet) whose ten wins included the Gr1 Champions Mile and the Gr1 Queen's Silver Jubilee Cup. Fellow Magic Millions graduate Benz Baron (Written Tycoon-Prostar, by Starcraft) was sold by Riversdale for $325,000, and is a half-brother to Listed winner Caipirinha (Nicconi). Costing $575,000 at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, Pascero (Pierro-Pass the Parcel, by More than Ready) is a half-brother to group placed winner Express Pass (Wandjina). Rounding out the field is the Godolphin runner Alriyah (Medaglia d'Oro-Alizes, by Rory's Jester) who wasn't offered at public auction and is a daughter of Gr2 Magic Night Stakes winner Alizes whose dam is Gr1 The Galaxy heroine La Baraka. It's the immediate family of Godolphin stars Alizee and Astern
