  • Neasham Secures More Feature Talent

    Thursday, 7th January 2021

Trainer Annabel Neasham has had some high-quality racehorses transferred to her stable recently, reports racing.com. Aquis-owned Global Quest (More Than Ready-Global Dream, by Fastnet Rock), Osamu (Exceed and Excel-Written Dash, by Written Tycoon) and Olmedo (Declaration of War-Super Pie, by Pivotal) have all moved from the Chris Waller stable to Neasham. "Everyone knows we are huge supporters of Annabel and with the start she has had, we have every confidence having horses with her, that's for sure," Aquis' managing director Shane McGrath said. "There are some horses we own in partnership that have stayed with Chris Waller. It's more the horses we control (that we have moved to Annabel)." 3YO colt Osamu remains a maiden after nine starts, however his four placings to date have included second in the Gr2 Skyline Stakes and a last start second in the Listed Gothic Stakes behind Endanger (Medaglia d'Oro-Hazard, by Flying Spur) back in October. He is the second foal of Gr3 winner Written Dash. Global Quest won on debut last season in the Gr3 ATC Breeder's Plate, then placed twice at group level as an autumn 2YO. This spring, he finished second behind Mo'unga (Savabeel-Chandelier, by O'Reilly) – now also trained by Neasham – in the Listed Dulcify Handicap, before two further starts during the spring. Imported Gr1 winner Olmedo has had only three starts in Australia with his best effort being sixth in the Gr1 Cantala Stakes in October 2020. Prior to arriving in Australia, Olmedo won the 2018 Gr1 Longchamp Poule d'Essai des Poulains over 1600m. Meanwhile Kia Ora Stud managed Prague (Redoute's Choice-Purely Spectacular, by Pins) has also been shifted to the Neasham stable from the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace stable. Prague was a dual Gr3 winner as a 2YO last season and ran second in the Gr1 ATC Sires' Produce Stakes. He has had two starts as a 3YO.
