Cup Master and Apprentice Gallop at Geelong
One's been there and done that, and the other looks increasingly like to go there and do that. Trained by Danny O'Brien, whose larder looks well stocked for the spring, Vow and Declare is set to gallop between races at Geelong today. The winner of 2019's Melbourne Cup, one of the first locally-bred racehorses to win the Melbourne Cup in many a moon, will not lack for company. According to racing.com, the son of Declaration of War will be joined by this year's early favourite, stablemate Russian Camelot, who ceated a huge impression when coming from a seemingly hopeless position in the Gr1 South Australian Derby to win with impunity. The former will be ridden by Daniel Moore and the latter by Damian Oliver. Wanting to use the experience for the duo to just have a good time and a change of scenery, O'Brien said, "They will probably just work over about 1200m and stride up in the straight together. They are really just looking to have a day out, a bit of stimulation."
