Bush Trainer Heads to Randwick

Friday, 31st July 2020

Moree trainer Peter Sinclair will have his first city runners in Sydney on Saturday, reports racingnsw.com.au. "Never been to a Sydney track, let alone Randwick ... let's hope I don't get lost," quipped Sinclair when discussing his stablemates,Liberty Head (Lonhro-Coins, by Hard Spun) and Beacon (Lonhro-Luce del Mare, by Fastnet Rock). Liberty Head will be ridden by regular rider Brooke Stower. "To me, the decision to put Brooke on Liberty Head was a no-brainer. As far as I'm concerned, it's the right thing to do considering the winners she's ridden for me this season – she's given me my best season so far and I've been training horses for more than 30 years." Liberty Head has won his last two races in succession with Stower on board and has a total of three wins from eight starts. Beacon, who was previously trained in Queensland by AJ Edmonds, will run in the same race, the TAB Highway Handicap over 1200m, as Liberty Head and is currently $17 to Liberty Head's $11. Beacon has had six starts for Sinclair for one win, and in total has four wins from 27 starts.
