Millennium Star Primed For Early 3YO Start
It seems to have been a long wait for exciting prospect Prime Star to return to the track, but the Sydney-based juvenile is gearing up well for his imminent 3YO season, according to racenet.com.au. By Starspangledbanner, Prime Star had shown potential in his first couple of starts but put it all together in the $2 million Inglis Millenium at the beginning of the year when he joined the leaders at the 300m mark in heavy conditions before edging his way clear over the final stages. Carrying the China Horse Club silks but owned by a large group that includes breeders Chris and Lynne Lawlor, Prime Star is trained by Richard and Michael Freedman and has been trialling since early July. Richard Freedman observed, "He enjoyed his time off. He has thickened up and is a little bit taller but quite a bit heavier and more solid. It will depend on what the handicapper rates him for his return before we actually decide where he goes.” The co-trainer revealed, "It will be in the next weeks that he returns."
