Sun City Half Adds to Family Success

When Telemon Thoroughbreds made the prescient decision to stand one-time Magic Millions 2YO Classic favourite Sun City on debut this year, his 2YO half-sister Parlophone (I Am Invincible) had shown a bit of promise at her second start in January. Since then, when she finished a half-length runner-up to subsequent Gr1 Blue Diamond runner-up Personal – clearly a good form reference in hindsight – Parlophone has had two starts for two wins, the latest culminating in a 3-length blitz in Saturday's Listed Lightning Stakes at Morphettville. That prompted bookmakers to slash her odds for the Gr1 Thousand Guineas at Caulfield in October from $51 to $15. Roulettes, the dam of Sun City and Parlophone, is a half sister to Gr1-placed Group winner Royal Discretion, and is turning into quite the broodmare; her four named foals are all winners, also including Parlophone's multiple Group-placed brother Spin who raced as Star of Jupiter in Singapore.
