Another Smart Type from Ghaiyyath Family
The family of Enable's Gr1 Coral Eclipse conqueror Ghaiyyath has thrown up another potential star. At Chantilly in France, 2YO filly Harajuku stepped out on debut for trainer Andre Fabre and scored by an easy 2.5-lengths in the Prix de la Butte Blanche over 7 furlongs. By Deep Impact, the filly delighted connections who'd expected her to possibly need the run to overcome inexperience. According to tdn.com, Fabre's racing manager Alan Cooper enthused, "She is a beautifully bred filly and had a lovely action at the end. She is the perfect example of what international racing and breeding is. She was conceived in Japan, born in Ireland and now raced in France." Harajuku is out of Phaenomena, a Galileo full-sister to Gr1 Irish Oaks winner Nightime, dam of both Godolphin's world-class Ghaiyyath (Dubawi) and his Gr1-winning Fastnet Rock half-sister Zhukova. Harajuku's dam has also produced Gr2 Meguro Kinen winner King of Koji (King Kanaloa).
