More Highway Gas in Tank for Young Trainer
Saturday’s TAB Highway Handicap at Randwick’s Kensington circuit could see the coming of age of an exciting son of Magic Albert. After winning his maiden, when heavily backed at Sapphire Coast, 3YO Mr Magical was even better when backing up next start to win his Class 1 at Nowra. According to racingnsw.com.au, Mr Magical has been well found and has been supported in from $6.00 to $5.00. There seems to be broad opinion coming out of the south-coast region that the Jamie Stewart-trained sophomore is way above average and is certainly not out of his depth over the weekend. Moruya’s long-time track manager Brian Cowden all but gushed when saying, “Oh yes, [he’s] super impressive, really big strong unit, no surprise they’ve taken him straight to town on what he’s shown. Jamie’s a horseman from a racing family, he worked for years in Victoria with the Freedmans before he took out a licence - knows his trade and he’s back here training with Matty Dale (who is held in high regard).” Should Mr Magical falter, any one of Leo, Niccirose, Tallis, Foxie La Belle and Skara Brae all have the form to capitalise.
