Champion 3YO Filly-Elect To Skip Irish Oaks

Wednesday, 15th July 2020

Ballydoyle's Aidan O'Brien revealed to racingpost.com that star 3YO filly Love (Galileo-Pikaboo, by Pivotal) will skip this weekend's Gr1 Juddmonte Irish Oaks, and be aimed at next month's Yorkshire Oaks instead. "Love doesn't run this weekend. She is perfect. What we are thinking at the moment is that she is probably going to go straight to York for the Yorkshire Oaks, and then on to the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe after that," said O'Brien. Winner of the Gr1 Qipco 1,000 Guineas and the Gr1 Investec Oaks (see below), Love is currently the 7-2 favourite for October's Gr1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Love has won five of her nine starts, including three wins as a 2YO, and is a triple Gr1 winner. She is out of unplaced mare Pikaboo whose six foals to race are all winners, including Gr2 winner Lucky Kristale (Lucky Story), Gr3 winner Peach Tree (Galileo), and Gr3 winner Flattering (Galileo).
