Cash is King in Peaceful French Decision
A potentially mouth-watering clash between Ballydoyle's two star 3YO fillies Love and Peaceful is likely to be put on ice as the duo heads in different directions this weekend, reports racingpost.com. By Galileo, Love won the Gr1 Moyglare Stakes as a juvenile before training on to win the Gr1 1,000 Guineas recently in great style. Also by Galileo, exciting Peaceful scored in the Gr1 Irish 1,000 Guineas. With little separating them on class, even-money favourite Love looks certain to front up for the Gr1 Oaks at Epsom, where she'll meet Anthony Oppenheimer's equally talented Frankel filly Frankly Darling. Although, technically, still carded for the Oaks, trainer Aidan O'Brien intimated Peaceful is more likely to head to Chantilly in France, where the reduced purse for the €600,000 Gr1 Prix de Diane (Oaks) is still worth more than the halved Epsom Oaks, worth just £250,000 in 2020. O'Brien was quoted as saying, "Peaceful will probably head to France, rather than go to Epsom. The prize-money is good over there so at this stage that is the direction she'll go. She's been in good form since the Curragh."
