Platinum Bullet Kept to Sprints

Friday, 26th June 2020

After Platinum Bullet (Shooting to Win-Raid, by Pins) won the Perth Racing Events at Ascot Handicap over 1000m on Wednesday, trainer Simon Miller confirmed she will stick to sprint distances, reports rwwa.com.au. "I will definitely keep her at a 1000 and 1200m, she won't go any further," Miller said. "I'm on record that she is a carnival horse and will win a stakes race. I've struggled to find consistency with her, but hopefully I've learnt something today. I would like to put her out, but I will go around one more time because of the Westspeed. But she will be kept to a short course." The win brought Platinum Bullet's record to three wins from 12 starts, including a fourth place in the Listed Raconteur Stakes over 1400m. The 3YO filly was sold by Three Bridges Thoroughbreds at the 2018 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale for $200,000 to Barry and Jan McRostie. She is a half-sister to stakes-placed winners Tarismo (Testa Rossa) and Mujallad (Redoute's Choice) and her dam Raid is a Listed winner.
