Nathan Doyle Chases First City Win
Newcastle trainer Nathan Doyle is chasing his first city win on Saturday at Rosehill with Café Royal (Snitzel-Your Life Style, by Hussonet). According to racingnsw.com.au, the 32-year-old trainer first took out his licence when he was 21, but after a few years he went to work with Team Snowden and Mark Newnham to invest in learning, before applying for his trainer's licence again in late 2018. "I thought the time was right to go out on my own and we haven't looked back," Doyle said. "I don't second guess myself. I'm happy with the decisions we make, when you take a horse to the races you know they've done everything you can do to get them to win the race. There is a reason why (trainers like the Snowdens and Newnham) are good at their job. I used to question whether I'd done things right but there's none of that this time."Café Royal has won four of her five starts and was narrowly beaten in her other start. "I'd like to take her through her grades, and I think she is still six months away as well. She's doing it on raw ability at the moment, once the penny really drops I think she will be a nice filly." Café Royal was sent to the sales twice, but was withdrawn, and then passed in. Her second dam Monsoon Wedding (Danehill-Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) is a full-sister to Redoute's Choice.
