Time To Return for Portelli 3YO
Sydney trainer Garry Portelli has had to exercise patience with talented colt Time To Reign (Time For War), but is confident the late season 3YO colt is back to where he needs him to be ahead of Saturday’s race return. Portelli knows the progeny of Time To Reign’s dam, Courgette, as well as anyone, having managed the career of her half-sister She Will Reign, winner of the Gr1 Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m). Having completely missed the spring and racing just once this year – in January where he finished fourth in Flemington’s Listed Kensington Stakes – Time To Reign will resume in a Benchmark-94 handicap with Glen Boss taking the ride. According to punters.com.au, Poretlli said after Time To Reign’s latest workout, “We've got him as good as you can get him going into his first run back from a spell. I'm looking forward to the weekend… Hopefully he runs well."
