Pin-hook Success Story Breaks Through
One of the most successful pin-hooks of recent times has broken through at his third start. A $225,000 weanling at the 2018 Inglis Great Southern Sale and subsequently a $700,000 yearling at the 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale, 2YO colt Oregon started $2.80 favourite in Canterbury’s All Too Hard @ Vinery Maiden (1250m) on Wednesday. On the heavy track, Kerrin McEvoy soon had the colt in front from where he completed an easy win. Oregon is trained by Peter and Paul Snowden for a large group of prominent owners that comprises Newgate Bloodstock, China Horse Club Racing Pty Ltd, Horse Ventures, Newgate S F, Go Bloodstock Australia, G1G Racing & Breeding, Nick Vass Bloodstock, Glenlogan Park, Aston Bloodstock, Grant Bloodstock Pty Ltd & Carpe Diem. Paul Snowden told Sky Racing Central that the son of Widden Stud’s Zoustar will be given a short break before connections consider spring carnival options. "It's maybe a bit before his time this time in, because he's still very immature, but time is going to be his best friend. We'll give him a break and try to get him in step with things a bit later in the year."
