Misty Metal's Delayed Winter Back on Track

Wednesday, 24th June 2020

Smart Perth sprinting mare Misty Metal (Oratorio) has her delayed winter campaign back on track, reports rwwa.com.au. The lightly-raced 5YO, who has had sixteen first-three fnishes from just twenty-two starts, trialled in ominous fashion at Belmont earlier in the week and she is expected to resume in two weeks’ time. After coasting home in her trial by 6-lengths without coming off the bridle, co-trainer Todd Harvey commented, “She needed a good hit out and was absolutely cruising… It was really pleasing and she has pulled up brilliant.” Forced to miss last month’s Gr3 Roma Cup at Belmont due to a leg injury, multiple stakes-performed Misty Metal has not raced since last December’s Gr1 Winterbottom Stakes. Her jumping-off point will be in July 11’s Listed Beaufine Stakes (1000m), possibly followed by the Bolton Sprint (1200m) a fortnight thereafter.
