Melbourne Possible for Perth's Kay Cee
WA trainer Neville Parnham has flagged a Melbourne campaign for star filly Kay Cee who continued her golden winter campaign at Belmont on Saturday, reports rwwa.com.au. Following her first-up win in the Listed Raconteur Stakes (1400m) two weeks ago, Kay Cee brought feature race double in the Listed WAROA-Belmont Guineas (1600m), albeit the odds-on favourite had to dig really deep. A daughter of Playing God, who is moving from Mungrup Stud to Darling View Thoroughbreds, Kay Cee is on track to target Perth’s Group 1 races later this year, including the Railway Stakes (1600m) and Kingston Town Classic (1800m), a race she won last December. Although there’s a chance Kay Cee will appear, briefly, on the Melbourne stage, Parnham has ruled out Sydney’s $7.5 million Golden Eagle (1500m), emphasising, “The only thing set in stone is she will be set for the Railway and Kingston Town.” In the short term, Kay Cee’s next start will likely be in the Belmont Oaks on 4 July where she will be advantaged by the set-weight conditions.
