Cable Bay Supporters Buoyed by Royal Ascot
Supporters of Woodside Park’s promising young stallion Cable Bay (Invincible Spirit) would be on great terms with themselves as this week’s Royal Ascot racing unfolds. Viewed as the pinnacle of British racing, the meeting includes a number of progeny that are representing Cable Bay. Among them was 3YO filly Liberty Beach who finished third, just over two lengths behind multiple Gr1 winner Battaash in Tuesday’s King’s Stand Stakes. Thursday night will see Cable Bay colt Ropey Guest start in the Gr3 Jersey Stakes while the multiple winning, Gr3-placed Separate contests the Sandringham Handicap. Electric Ladyland, Cable Bay’s first ever runner and winner, who recorded a 2YO course-record time in that win, has been nominated for Friday’s Palace Of Holyroodhouse Handicap. With leading Australian trainers boasting first crop local progeny by Cable Bay in their yards, for the forthcoming season Gilgai Farm has already booked a superb collection of mares with close Gr1 and Gr2 family ties to the sire-son of Invincible Spirit.
