Leading European Freshmen Sire First Winners

In Europe, two Gr1-winning freshman sires were rewarded with their first winners on Friday. New Bay (Dubawi-Cinnamon Bay, by Zamindar) celebrated his inaugural winner when 2YO colt First Prophet scored comfortably at Newbury in a novice event over 7 furlongs. The Juddmonte Farms-owned New Bay (see below) placed in the Gr1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and winner of France’s Gr1 Prix du Jockey Club (the French Derby), stands at Ireland’s Ballyinch Stud. Meanwhile, winner of the Gr1 Irish 2,000 Guineas – Sheihk Hamdan’s Awtaad (Cape Cross-Asheerah, by Shamardal) who stands at Derrinstown Stud in Ireland – was represented by the juvenile filly Live Stream at Kempton. On debut, she triumphed by over a length in the British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes (6 furlongs).
