O'Brien Strikes Again in 1,000 Guineas
The powerfull Ballydoyle stable headed by trainer Aidan O’Brien has worked its English 1,000 Guineas magic for the fifth time in five years at Newmarket in England. The revered commercially influential UK Classic for 3YO fillies was taken out by Love (Galileo) who provided O’Brien with a sixth victory in the event. Last seen at Newmarket in the Gr1 Fillies Mile during October where she finished third, Love already boasted a Gr1 victory after a three-quarter length win in The Curragh’s Moyglare Stud Stakes last September. The stable’s lone entrant, Love’s key mission, according to theguardian.com is actually next month’s Gr1 Oaks. Following her facile 4-lengths triumph on Sunday where she accounted for Cloak of Spirits and hitherto undefeated filly Quadrilateral, Love is now as short as $2.50 to earn her second classic.
