Membership Extension at MRC

Thursday, 4th June 2020

Melbourne Racing Club has extended their membership at no cost until September 30, 2020, reports racing.com. Chairman Peter Le Grand wrote in a letter to members, "We understand how difficult it's been with the restrictions in place prohibiting Members from attending our venues and share your frustrations in being unable to reap the benefits of your current membership or enjoy the many experiences you have come to know and love. Our priority is keeping you a part of the Melbourne Racing Club now and well into the future, and the Club respects how important the decision is to renew membership in this current climate, especially as there is no set date for when we can open the gates and welcome you back on track." Members who renew now will get a reduced price of $249 for next season and will also receive 4000 Pegasus Rewards Points ($40 credit). "When we're able to start welcoming Members back to the track, we'll be in touch again with the new options for renewal of your membership," Le Grand advised. "As we await further advice from the Victorian Government on the easing of restrictions, the Club is planning for a number of possible scenarios for the spring, all with the goal of creating a fantastic Carnival at whatever capacity possible and we hope to have our Members play an integral role in this. We're extremely fortunate that racing has been allowed to continue, however, it hasn't been the same without our passionate Members on course. Once again, we thank every Member for standing by the Melbourne Racing Club and we look forward to welcoming you trackside as soon as we're safely permitted to do so."
