Return Date for Enable Locked In
Champion European mare Enable (Nathaniel), winner of two runnings of the Gr1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in a row before a gallant runner-up, has had her first summer mission confirmed. Building towards a final shot at an historic Arc treble, the 6YO mare owned by Khalid bin Abdullah will kick-off on 5 July in the Gr1 Coral Eclipse Stakes, the same race she won last year. According to irishmirror.ie, Abdullah's racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe suggested the Coral Eclipse was a better jumping off point than Roya Ascot. With a nod to the non-guaranteed continiuation of racing which has only just returned in Britain, he said, "It's like everything, there's always various decisions to be made and obviously the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe is the ultimate aim again, so we hope this is the best course. In these days it's very much one race at a time." Enable is close to an even-money quote first-up.
