McDonald on Target for New Sydney PB
Champion jockey James McDonald has made the most of his opportunities under COVID-19 restrictions, and is on trajectory to set a new Personal Best for the season in Sydney. According to racingnsw.com.au, the expat kiwi rider who, under usual circumstances, would have been riding interstate during their feature carnivals, has an opportunity to emulate and then better last year’s feat of 104 victories. That benchmark of breaching the 100 win barrier was the first time it had been achieved since Darren Beadman’s dominance in the 2006-2007 season. Closing on 90 wins with nearly two months (18 meetings) to go, McDonald is 11.5 wins clear of Nash Rawiller in the Premiership.
