Thursday Debut for Guntantes Full-Sister

Thursday, 23rd January 2020

Brisbane trainer Rob Heathcote's stable has been in cracking form of late. On Thursday at Doomben, he'll likely be saddling a full-sister to exciting 3YO Guntantes (Rothesay-Cantantes, by Just Awesome), already the winner of 5 of his first 12 starts, reports racingqueensland.com.au. Named Bellissimi Amici (which means beautiful friends) the 2YO filly is the last foal of leading Queensland broodmare Cantantes who was euthansed in 2018. "Bellissimi Amici is a very nice filly but is more a get back type. She's got plenty of ability but she's only had one trial and this is first-up over 1200 metres," conceded Heathcote, who has also trained Cantante's other leading runners Funtantes and Excellantes, both prolific winners who performed at black-type level. With plenty of inclement weather persisting in south-east Queensland, Heathcote – also represented by Jellishot in the same race – is keeping an eye on the radar.
