Yarradale Opens Black-Type Success

Wednesday, 22nd January 2020

WA's Yarradale Stud has opened its black-type account this year after breeding more stakes winners than anyone else in WA bar Peters Investments in 2019. The Gidgegannup nursery bred and sold Valour Road (Frost Giant) who won Saturday's LR Miss Andretti Stakes (1100m) at Ascot. He was a $60,000 graduate out of its consignment to the 2017 Perth Magic Millions to clients of trainer Simon Miller. The $1.60 favourite's career stats now stand at 6 wins from 14 starts for prizemoney totalling $947,607, including Westspeed bonuses of $93,600. Peters Investments topped last year's black-type table with 9 individual stakes winners followed by Yarradale (6), Ellie Giles (3), Kingston Thoroughbreds (3) and Elio Galante (2). Valour Road was the leader among Yarradale's 2019 stakes winners in the G2 Euclase Stakes and LR Bolton Sprint. He was joined by War Saint (G2 WA Guineas), Missile Launch (LR Tattersalls Cup), Mizlecki (LR Old Comrade Stakes), Mr Motown (LR Scenic Blast Stakes) and Neurological (LR Farnley Quality). Valour Road will be back in action at Ascot in a fortnight when he attempts to make it a running double for Yarradale in the LR Scenic Blast Stakes (1200m).
