O'Shea New Year Magic Kicks On

Wednesday, 15th January 2020

Sydney trainer John O'Shea's impressive winning start to the New Year has continued unabated at Warwick Farm on Wednesday. Since 28 December, O'Shea has led in 11 winners from 24 runners (almost all at city level) at a phenomeal strike rate just below 50 percent. Despite those astonishing figures, his first two runners for the day at Warwick Farm, Broadside Armour and All Saints' Ever, were allowed to go off at $5.50 fixed and $51 fixed respectively, with both winning. The latter is beautifully-bred, being a Sacred Falls filly out of Gr1 Blue Diamond runner-up La Lagune's daughter Halloween, dam of Gr1 New Zealand One Thousand Guineas heroine Hasahalo. The winning duo was followed by $2.80 favourite Private Thoughts in the second last, who finished strongly to be runner-up after the race leader had stolen a march.
