Fires Force NSW Race Meeting Changes

Racing NSW has been forced to make sweeping changes, including abandonment to some scheduled race meetings between Friday 3 January to Monday 6 January. Citing predicted high temperatures and continued monitoring of air quality, the below decisions have been made by Racing NSW for upcoming meetings (for full details regarding each meeting, CLICK HERE):

  1. Muswellbrook (Friday, 3 January 2020) – Forecast temperature 41 degrees (Level 2). Hot Weather policy invoked.
  2. Albury (Friday, 3 January 2020) – Forecast temperature 40 degrees (Level 2). Hot Weather policy invoked.
  3. Canterbury Park (Friday night, 4 January 2020) – Forecast temperature 29 degrees. No change.
  4. Kensington Track (Saturday, 4 January 2020) – Forecast temperature 34 degrees. No change.
  5. Wyong (Saturday, 4 January 2020) – Forecast temperature 37 degrees (Level 1). Hot Weather policy invoked.
  6. Tumut (Saturday, 4 January 2020) – Forecast temperature 44 degrees - Postponed.
  7. Gilgandra (Sunday, 5 January 2020) – Forecast temperature 43 degrees (Level 2) - Meeting in doubt.
  8. Ballina (Sunday, 5 January 2020) – Forecast temperature 31 degrees. No change.
  9. Moruya (Monday, 6 January 2020) – Abandoned.
