Makybe Diva To Retire From Breeding Duties
Triple Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva (Desert King-Tugela, by Riverman) has returned home to Makybe Stud with a More Than Ready filly at foot, and owner Tony Santic told the Geelong Advertiser that the mare will now be retired from breeding duties. The filly is the tenth foal for Makybe Diva, whose progeny include five winners, among them Listed placed winner Divanation (All Too Hard), recent winners Demand Attention (Starspangledbanner) and Surrey (High Chaparral), as well as million dollar colt and winner Rockstardom (Galileo) and dual winner Taqneen (Lonhro). Her unplaced daughter La Dolce Diva is the dam of Gr2 placed winner Touch of Mink (Not a Single Doubt). Makybe Diva also has an unraced 3YO filly named Sublime Diva (Brazen Beau) in training with Chris Waller.
