Magical Result Possible in Hong Kong Cup

Friday, 22nd November 2019

Champion mare Magical is one of five Aidan O'Brien-trained entries left in the running for December's Hong Kong International Races (HKIR) meeting at Sha Tin. The multiple Gr1-winning daughter of Galileo missed her intended swansong at the Breeders' Cup after spiking a temperature and was subsequently retired, but O'Brien has kept her in the reckoning for the Gr1 Hong Kong Cup (Sunday 8 December) at the latest stage of scratchings. If lining up, she could clash with Japanese superstar Almond Eye, while stablemates Circus Maximus (Hong Kong Mile), Anthony Van Dyck and Mount Everest (Hong Kong Vase) and Magic Wand (Hong Kong Cup) are also in the mix for the territory's biggest meeting of the season.
