First Australian Success for Phoenix Thoroughbreds
Phoenix Thoroughbreds was able to celebrate a first homebred success in Australia this week, when Farnan (Not a Single Doubt-Tallow, by Street Cry) ran out an impressive winner at Canberra on his debut, reports bloodhorse.com. "It's always great to have a winner, but it's always extra special when you've bred them," said Phoenix Thoroughbreds CEO Amer Abdulaziz. "We have big plans for our breeding operation in Australia, so to have a potentially smart winner is a welcome boost. The bloodstock industry in the country is an integral part of our business model, and we hope to continue to grow our influence and success in the future. Farnan's dam, (Gr3 winner) Tallow, is now in foal to The Autumn Sun. Fingers crossed, she will produce another winner," he added. "Congratulations to our partners Aquis on this victory, hopefully the first of many." Connections are now aiming the 2YO colt at the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in the new year. Farnan qualifies for the $2 million race as he was sold at the 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale for $550,000 to Aquis Farm in partnership with Phoenix Thoroughbreds, and was officially bred by Phoenix Thoroughbreds.
