Quick Turn Around for Super Sophomore
Exciting 3YO colt Super Seth, who produced the finish of the year to claim the Gr1 Caulfield Guineas, is back in work with trainer Anthony Freedman, reports smh.com.au. The Dundeel sophomore, whose breeding future was secured by Waikato Stud in New Zealand for a figure believed to be close to $15 million, has had a quick spelling turn around ahead of a possible first 2020 start on 8 February. Although he will continue to carry the red and white stripes of Jonathan Munz’s Pinecliff Racing, Waikato Stud principal Mark Chittick will have a significant say in what races the valuable stallion-in-waiting tackles. Two of the early possibilities on the radar are the Gr1 C.F.Orr Stakes and Gr1 Makybe Diva Stakes. Chittick disabused any notions that connections feel the need to push Super Seth out to 2000m, with both he and Munz happy to keep him at 1400-1600m if needs be.
