Everest Slot Holder Tests Aethero Waters
Described as the 'Rocket of the racecourse' during his dazzling victory for lightweight jockey Karis Teetan in the Gr2 Jockey Club Sprint (1200m) at Sha Tin on Sunday, the John Moore-trained Aethero (Sebring-Pinnochio, by Encosta De Lago) has already acquired interest from an 'unconfirmed' slot holder for a potential tilt at next year's The Everest. "I won't say who, but somebody contacted George (Moore) and said that they'd like to give him their space in The Everest next year," Moore told Sky Sports Radio on Monday. The exciting sprinter is a half-brother to Classique Legend (who finished sixth in this year's Everest), and according to punters.com, his talent has jockey Zac Purton making big claims about the 3YO. "Aerovelocity has been the benchmark for me up until now and he won two Hong Kong sprints as well as winning in Japan and Singapore," Purton said. "But he was not as naturally gifted as this fellow. He could be anything." Purton will partner Aethero when he lines up in next month's Gr1 Hong Kong Sprint.
