Sunlight To Shine on Top Mare in 2020
Dominant sprinting mare Sunlight (Zoustar) is in a paddock at trainer Tony McEvoy’s South Australian farm ahead of a potentially lucrative 2020, reports AAP. Part-owned by both Aquis Farm and Qatar Racing, the multiple Gr1-winning 4YO has the world at her feet – literally – with connections considering a possible tilt at Royal Ascot. While it’s one consideration, McEvoy said, "I like racing here. But there's been no decisions made and I'll just look at all that's available for her and then we'll sit down with the ownership group and make a plan." Runner-up to Kolding in the $7.5 million Golden Eagle (1500m), Sunlight is turning into a genuine sprinter-miler as she matures, however McEvoy suggested next January’s $10 million race day on the Gold Coast will come too soon for the earner of over $6.5 million.
