Preusker Stable In Strong Form

Tuesday, 12th November 2019

Notwithstanding the deserved accolades surrounding Vow and Declare’s exciting Melbourne Cup win last Tuesday, the astonishing finish of Surprise Baby (Shocking) out wide from the rear of the field had many marking him as next year’s winner. Trainer Paul Preusker has quickly bounced back from any disappointment at Flemington by celebrating a feature double at Ararat. Based at Horsham in Victoria, Presuker saddled both Stealthy Lucas (Ararat Gold Cup) and Marcel From Madrid (China Bowl). Following the Gold Cups, Preusker told racing.com, “Unfortunately it’s not the Melbourne Cup but it’s good to win any cup.” He intimated Stealthy Lucas is a chance to back up in next Saturday’s Gr2 Zipping Classic (2400m) at Sandown Park in Melbourne.
