Back To Back Titles for Donnacha O'Brien
Although he has recently set up a training establishment with his father Aidan O'Brien in Ireland, young hoop Donnacha O'Brien batted away talks of retirement at Naas on Sunday after retaining his champion jockey title in what has been an historic season of 111 wins, the final bought up by 2YO Nobel Prize, another Aidan O'Brien trained son of Galileo. "You are all absolutely mad for me to retire!" said O'Brien when asked by the Racing Post. "The plan is the same as always, I will take it one year at a time and it is nice to get this one out of the way. I am looking forward to taking a break and thinking about things. We'll see." In a battle that has enticed the nation, O'Brien finished the season 8 wins ahead of Colin Keane; the first time two jockeys reached a century of winners in Ireland.
