Waller Says Prizemoney Only UK Reservation
Champion trainer Chris Waller has said that the main reservation he has in targeting Royal Ascot next year is the “steep drop off in earnings”. According to AAP, Waller is keen to take both recent The Everest winner Yes Yes Yes and dual Gr1 winner Nature Strip to the showpiece English Carnival. Waller has experienced the allure of Royal Ascot before, saddling now boom stallion Brazen Beau in 2015’s Gr1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes to finish second before a disappointing run in the subsequent Gr1 July Cup at Newmarket. “Royal Ascot is something unique. We're all striving to get there. It's a fantastic showpiece,” said Waller. “It appeals more to colts that can really justify their big price tags, but a horse like (gelding) Nature Strip, he'll be getting there for our stable if all goes to plan and, hopefully ,Yes Yes Yes, who won The Everest." Waller indicated that a hike in purses would ensure the stable would send runners.
