Another Magic Millions Cheapie Still Going Strong

Monday, 30th September 2019

The win by 9YO Black Heart Bart in the Gr1 Underwood Stakes was a great advert for Perth’s Magic Millions Yearling sale, with the $20,000 purchase now the earner of well over $4 million. Before Sunday, though, another inexpensive ageing Perth Sale gradauate showed he’s also not done with yet. The State’s only black-type event for the weekend was captured on Saturday by $25,000 buy Man Booker in his first Perth outing since finishing a commendable fifth in the Gr1 Railway Stakes. Between runs, like many of WA’s leading gallopers are now doing, the Dan Morton-trained 7YO Man Booker made a winter sojourn to Queensland where he won the Listed Eye Liner Stakes for his syndicate of 20 lady owners whose minor investment has swelled to in excess of $1 million. According to tbwa.net.au, Morton is still convinced the son of Discorsi has the potential to win at elite level. “He’s been working extra well and I was happy and relaxed coming here today. He didn’t trial and is still a few runs away from being completely screwed down. I believe there’s a Gr1 in this horse.”
