Magic Man Treble Gives Him Early HK Lead
Joao Moreira become the first rider in the new Hong Kong season to hit double figures, after notching up on a treble at Happy Valley on Wednesday, reports punters.com.au. "I'm trying my best and I'm making the most of every opportunity I'm being given. I don't think that's it, I think there are more winners to come and I will keep on doing my best," Moreira said. 'Magic Man' Moreira is currently one ahead of last season's champion jockey Zac Purton and two ahead of Karis Teetan. His winners on Wednesday included Shamport (Shamardal-Port Providence, by Red Ransom) in the Class 4 Wong Chuk Hang Handicap, King's Trooper (Denman-Alluring Belle, by Encosta de Lago) in the Class 4 Hong Kong Country Club Challenge Cup Handicap, and Le Terroir (Star Witness-Chichi Romero, by O'Reilly) in the Class 3 Yip Fat Handicap, all over 1200m.
