Fascinating Get Out Stakes at Caulfield
At the very end of a fantastic weekend of feature racing in Australia that stretches from Friday through Sunday with Gr1s on each of three days, the lucky last at Caulfield at 5pm will still be one of the most keenly watched events of them all. While 'just' a BM78, it features three horses – all drawn wide – that appear to have particularly bright futures and the potential for bigger Spring riches. Favourite, at $3.40, is Harbour View, a French import by Le Favre who could not have been more impressive in his three Australian runs at the Provincials. He steps up to better grade here and has drawn widest of all, but looks a class act in the making. Tarwin, at $4.00, is proven at the course and is much, much better than his last run in stakes company when given a poor ride that left him with a hopeless cause to finish mid-field, albeit closing fast, behind Rox The Castle. Ten days prior, Rox The Castle defeated Jumbo Ozaki who was doing his best work late to go down by a length. The latter is at $4.40 and the 7-length maiden winner will have an army of supporters. As promising as Harbour View and Jumbo Ozaki certainly are, speed up front and a better ride should see Tarwin pulled into the contest to finish over the top of his rivals in an exciting finish to a huge weekend.
