Bivouac Has Breeding Bases Covered

Friday, 27th September 2019

Saturday’s sensational Gr1 Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens, where Bivouac (Exceed and Excel-Dazler, by More Than Ready) was headed by Yes Yes Yes only to fight back for a courageous win, stamped the 3YO colt as a genuine stallion in waiting. As impressive as big victories may be, the Godolphin-owned favourite earned even more respect with his never-say die fight-back. "I couldn't help but think he had no right running the 1400 metres today,” revealed trainer James Cummings. “We know the key to the horse, we've taught him to relax, we've trained him to run seven furlongs and you know what, he's probably the best six furlong three-year-old in the country.” Bred to be a champion, Bivouac is out of a city-winning half-sister to Champion 3YO filly Guelph, dam of Gr1-placed Gr2 winner Encryption who is standing his first season at Eureka Stud. Grandam Camarilla won the Gr1 Sires Produce Stakes and is a daughter of Gr1 Queensland Derby winner Camarena whose dam is a half-sister to Canny Lad and Canny Lass. With an assured future at stud, Bivouac’s story is only beginning.
